Ahead of Xiaomi's May 10 event, the yet-to-be-announced Mi Max smartphone and the next-generation Mi Band have been spotted in leaked live images. In one of the images, Xiaomi's upcoming Mi Max smartphone has been leaked in an image that gives the first purported glimpse of the phablet.

The new leaked image (via Mobipicker) contradicts an earlier report and claims that the Mi Max may sport Mi Note-like design. An earlier report had hinted that Mi Max may feature a similar design language to the company's flagship, the Mi 5. In the new leaked live image, the Mi Max is seen sporting three capacitive buttons while the previously leaked image had touted that the phablet may feature a physical home button. Apart from the front of the handset, the new leaked image also shows the side profile of the handset.

Based on preliminary leaks, Xiaomi's Mi Max is expected to feature a massive 6.4-inch full-HD display; Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow; a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor; 2GB of RAM; 16GB of storage; a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

In a separate leaked image, Xiaomi's alleged Mi Band 2 has been spotted featuring a display on Weibo. As rumoured previously, the Mi Band 2 comes with a display that shows time alongside other fitness related details. In the leaked image, the display of the wearable is also seen showing the battery status of the wearable. Previously, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun was spotted wearing a smart band, believed to be the Mi Band 2. In the image, Jun was seen wearing a smart band featuring a display. The next-generation Mi Band is expected to reduce the wearable's dependence on the connected smartphone and would sport a small display. Several reports have claimed that the display on the new Mi Band would be a highlight feature and will be the biggest improvement over the older generation.

Xiaomi at its May 10 event will also to reveal the next version of its MIUI ROM which will be seen running on the Mi Max smartphone - which is expected to be the platform lead device of MIUI 8.
